What Does Momentum Studio Even Offer?!

Happy Sunday Loves!

Somehow we are nearing the end of the school year which for some of us means our schedules are about to change. Maybe it opens you up for more availability to attend classes/training, or maybe not! We’ve got you covered if you want a consistent workout throughout the week, or if a workshop once a month is more your speed, that will work too! Either way I wanted to let you all know what is on the agenda for in the next coming months, so you can plan accordingly!

We will keep our usual weekly classes going like always. Some changes may occur with instructors being out of town, but we’ll roll with it! If there has been a class(es) that you have been wanting to try out, but not sure what all you’d be getting yourself into I hope this clears it up. Also, you do not have to already be “fit” to participate in these classes. The group sessions are to assist you in reaching your goals. No one starts off perfect. It takes consistent work to progress, so tell that voice in your head that makes you second guess yourself to be quiet while you check out what you would like to sign up for!

CHAIR YOGA - Mondays 4:45 PM

This is a great beginner’s class to get to know the yoga poses with support. Any one new to the yoga scene, limited in mobility, weight bearing restrictions, or in too much pain to get up/down from the floor, give this class a try.

HOT YOGA- Mondays 6 PM

In this class we crank up the heat to 95 degrees to get deep stretches and joint mobility that you may not be able to get into without the heat. You will sweat in this class, so I wouldn’t plan any meet ups right after. haha You do not have to be a yoga expert to attend. Lindsey, the instructor, is an experienced teacher offering modifications and direction throughout the class.

BEGINNER’S YOGA- Tuesdays 6:15 PM

Completely new to yoga without any mobility restrictions? Join us Tuesdays to learn the names and flow of poses in a relaxed setting. The movements and stretches are gentle, so you won’t leave drenched in sweat.

PILATES- Wednesdays 6 PM

This class is not always outside, but I do plan on having it at one of the Lowell parks again this summer! The beauty of this class is no resistance is needed, and it is an EXCEPTIONAL workout for women specifically. It focuses on deep core muscles and joint stabilizers to improve mobility, decrease pain, and strengthen your pelvic floor! Since it is not cardio or resistance based there is less stress put on the body which makes it great for women experiencing adrenal fatigue and high cortisol levels (which is most of us). Melanie took a break from teaching the past month, but she should be back May 15th and we can’t wait!!

WERQ- Thursdays 5:15 PM

You may have seen posts about this class, and wondered what the heck it is. Well, if you are looking to move without feeling like you’re “working out” you have found your class! This is a no pressure, dance cardio class lets you lean in to your femininity which I don’t think we are allowed to do enough, in my opinion. This will be 45 minutes that you and your gal pals will LOVE letting loose, and maybe coming out of your comfort zone! You may surprise yourself! The music is modern pop, so you’ll know the songs you are dancing to, and you’re able to get as sassy and flirty as you want!

POP UP CLASSES WITH COURTNEY!- There is no set schedule currently, but we are working on it!

Courtney is the little lady in the pink in this pic, and while she is small she is mighty! Those of you who have taken her classes know what I mean! She is highly trained and experienced in…everything fitness on top of being a nurse, so you’re in good hands whenever you sign up for her classes. She makes you sweat, but you’ll leave feeling like a warrior! You’ll see her classes and maybe a back protection workshop pop up in June. You’re not going to want to miss it!

RESTORATIVE SOUND BATH WORKSHOP- Monthly, dates/times vary

This workshop we try to have once a month, but sometimes it doesn’t work out that way. Its like a mini sleepover that completely refills your cup. It begins with gentle stretching to prepare the body to relax. You’ll bring a blanket, pillow, eye covering, whatever you need to be comfortable while letting your body absorb Tibetan sound bowl vibrations. It restores your body on a cellular level. I’m telling ya, don’t knock it til you try it…it’s amazing.

GOAT YOGA- 9 AM June 1, 29th. July 20, 27.

That’s right! You’ll have cuteness overload coming your way with summer! We team up with Wild Harts Farm just over the Indiana border in Grant Park, IL. They have the most picturesque property with the most adorable farm animals! It is a great way to start the weekend let me tell ya! Not too much “yogaing” gets done, but that’s okay! The goats are just too darn cute! More info will be coming out for sign ups, what to bring etc, but I wanted to at least give you the dates ahead of time!

FULL BODY STRENGTHENING/PERSONAL 1 ON 1 TRAINING/SPORTS INJURY PREVENTION WORKSHOPS

This is for my early birds, and taught by yours truly! :) I keep the 5 AM less of a cardio class and more focused on weights, for a number of reasons. 1. Muscle building is very important for our bones and joints. 2. Too many women are experiencing high levels of stress already, and sending your self into a cortisol spike first thing in the day from cardio will not help. 3. I am a physical therapist assistant of 13 years, so weights, muscle building is my expertise, and I like to stay in my wheelhouse. haha I know its early, but man its nice getting that work out done first thing. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Yes, the personal training sessions are early as well, but you get my complete undivided attention and the studio to yourself! Fore warning, I do not have the conventional style of personal trainers. I am primarily focused on your health as an individual, so we will talk about sleep, hydration, diet, toxicity levels in addition to workouts. Once you clean up the inside, the aesthetics naturally fall into place.

I am also a volleyball coach currently for the freshman team at the highschool, and see too many risk factors for injury in these students! I want to take some time this summer to educate parents and players how to stay on the field instead of a doctor’s office!

Please forgive the lack of pictures for my section. I’m always so concentrated on teaching that I don’t take any! oops!

What to Look Forward to this Week!
